I'm LOVING my 45/1.8. All of these were taken with it...

I received my Olympus 45/1.8 lens today. Wow, what a wonderful little prime this thing is. First off, it's beautifully made and looks great on my OM-D. Second, it focuses very quickly and silently. Here are a few pics with this little marvel. All were shot in JPG Vivid mode and tweaked in LR4.

I did a little experimenting today with my OM-D and Olympus OM 50/1.8 lens that I got from my dad when he gave me his OM10 film camera. Pretty good results...

New camera -- Olympus OM-D E-M5

Well I've finally done it. I have dumped ALL of my Canon DSLR gear and gone 100% micro 4/3. This is something I've been contemplating since I got my E-PL1 over a year ago, but there still wasn't a micro 4/3 camera that could give me everything I was looking for. That all changed with the E-M5.

The primary areas where the MFT cameras fell short were high ISO noise and autofocus speed. With the E-M5 however, those shortcomings are things of the past. The AF is incredibly fast -- faster than my 40D was in fact. And the high ISO performance is better than the 40D as well.

As a side note, if you need to sell Canon or Nikon photography gear, fredmiranda.com is the place to do it. He charges $9 for 30 days of access to create posts in the buy/sell forum, which is significantly less than it would have cost me to list all of my items (2 camera bodies, 2 flashes, 6 lenses,) on Ebay. I got VERY prompt replies and sold almost all of my equipment in less than a week.

I currently have the 14-42 kit lens and the Panasonic 20/1.7 for the E-M5. I have the Panasonic 45-175 on order from B&H and it should be here on 8/23. I also want to order the Olympus 45/1.8 and then I'm done with lenses. I also have three old OM lenses from my dad's OM10 that he gave me (28/2.8, 50/1.8, and 80-200/4,) so I'll play with those a bit too.

I'll take some pics of my new gear in the new few days and post them here. Suffice it to say that I am THRILLED with my new camera system.
